Blackout at Canada and the Northeast and Midwest of the United States

To Our Valued Customers,

As the Northeast struggles to get back to normal, and through this ordeal Yusen USA offices remained open for normal operations. During the blackout our main computer systems in our Headquarters facility located in Garden City, New York switched over automatically to battery backup power to maintain all functions. The ability of our computer system to operate under these extreme conditions allows Yusen to function at full capacity at all times.

Today Friday August 15th, 2003, all of our offices throughout the U.S. are fully staffed and open and fully operational to handle our customers needs.

However, some of the major gateways and air carriers have not recovered fully. U.S. Customs has also been affected in these areas and are not quite fully operational.

In our best effort to transport our valued customers cargo to their final destinations, some flight operations might be disrupted during this weekend. Yusen will do everything in our means and will monitor shipments throughout this weekend.
